- Bringing our community together in harmony and culture
Tamang Society of NSW
The Tamang Society of NSW (New South Wales) is a community-based, non-profit organization established to unite, represent, and empower the Tamang community living in Sydney and across NSW, Australia. Our society proudly preserves and promotes the rich cultural heritage, language, and traditions of the Tamang people—one of Nepal’s largest indigenous ethnic groups.
Formed by dedicated community members, the Tamang Society of NSW serves as a hub for cultural exchange, mutual support, and social harmony. We organize major cultural events such as Sonam Lhosar (Tamang New Year), Buddha Jayanti, and various religious and social gatherings, bringing together not only the Tamang diaspora but also friends from the broader Nepalese and Australian multicultural communities.
The society is led by an elected executive committee that works tirelessly to create opportunities for cultural celebration, community welfare, and meaningful integration within Australian society.
We warmly welcome anyone interested in experiencing and supporting Tamang culture. By participating in our events and initiatives, you help keep our unique heritage alive and enrich the multicultural fabric of Australia.
